Our client brings people and organisations from across Ireland together to promote collective action for sustained improvements in health. With a focus on tackling inequalities in health, they have produced over 60 publications, held over 40 conferences and workshops and responded to relevant policy consultations. An opportunity has now arisen for a Web Development Assistant to join their team.

As a Web Development Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in the design and development of scalable, modular, and manageable web production features using custom templates, themes and integrated contributed and custom Drupal modules.

You will support the Web and IT Manager in the development of ICT and web applications and design and prepare web graphics and other multimedia resources. You will also monitor and analyse website usage and maintain web and database servers ensuring that backup routines run effectively and that website code is updated.

Additionally, you will provide web and IT related support to staff and represent our client at meetings and conferences.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Some experience of using a range of web programming and scripting languages such as JavaScript and/or PHP
  • Experience of using Drupal 6 and 7 Platform and CMS technology
  • Some exposure to the installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of Drupal Web sites
  • PHP skills and knowledge of SQL relational databases, specifically MySQL

Additionally, as a Web Development Assistant, you must be a highly motivated individual with the ability to work independently, as well as within a team. You must also demonstrate good problem solving abilities and be adept at writing and making clear and concise presentations.

Knowledge and experience of web development using .NET and Microsoft SQL Server and previous experience of hosting PHP / MySQL applications using Apache web server and Linux operating systems would be beneficial to your application. Specific knowledge and experience of using the Drupal organic groups and domain suites of modules would also be an advantage.

While located primarily in the Belfast office, this role will also entail travel to our client's Dublin office.
